Staff augmentation

Staff augmentation for US software teams: one vetted senior developer, embedded in yours.

Staff augmentation means adding a developer to your team without hiring them yourself. With AlbanianHire, that developer lives in Kosovo or Albania, works at least 4 hours of overlap with your team (by default 8:00 AM–4:00 PM ET), and takes direction from your leads, in your tools. You contract with Stackstone LLC, a US company, under a US MSA with an NDA and IP assignment. The engagement runs month to month, with no placement fee.

When staff augmentation is the right call

  • An agency with more client work than people. Add a white-label seat when a project lands and drop it when it ends. The developer works under your brand and never contacts your clients directly. For agencies.
  • A SaaS team with roles sitting open. One dedicated engineer joins your standups and owns features on your roadmap. For SaaS.
  • A specific stack gap. React, Next.js, Laravel, Shopify, WordPress, full-stack, QA or DevOps, plus Node.js, TypeScript and Python for SaaS teams. Browse by stack.

It's not the right fit if you want a vendor to own a project end to end, or if you need someone in your office.

How it works

  1. Tell us the role. Stack, seniority, hours and start date.
  2. We source and vet in private. The same six steps for every seat: a CV, GitHub and portfolio screen; a scored 20-minute English and soft-skills call; a 90-minute timed coding test; a 60-minute live technical interview with a senior engineer; a paid 4–8 hour task; and reference checks, including internet and backup power.
  3. You get a private shortlist. Vetted profiles with scorecards, shared only with your company under NDA. Profiles are never published.
  4. A 30-minute intro call. You meet the developer and you choose. You interview and choose before anything is signed.
  5. They start on your team. Your hours, your tools, your NDA. A dedicated account manager at Stackstone handles the start and a monthly quality check-in.

Why the developers are in Kosovo and Albania

Both countries are on Central European Time, usually six hours ahead of US Eastern, so a 14:00–22:00 local shift covers 8:00 AM–4:00 PM ET.1 The cost of living in Pristina and Tirana is far lower than in US cities, which is where the savings come from. The vetting bar doesn't change. See developers in Kosovo and developers in Albania.

Contracts, billing and the guarantee

You contract with Stackstone LLC, a Florida LLC. One monthly USD invoice, paid by ACH or card. No benefits, payroll taxes, recruiting fees or foreign paperwork on your side. Each seat is quoted for the role (how pricing works). If it's not the right fit in the first 30 days, we'll find a replacement at no extra cost. Conditions apply: see the guarantee details. The signed MSA controls.

FAQ

What is staff augmentation?

Adding an outside developer to your own team, under your direction, for as long as you need them. You manage the work. We handle sourcing, vetting, contracts and payment.

How is this different from outsourcing?

With outsourcing, a vendor owns a project and its delivery. With staff augmentation, the developer is part of your team, in your standups, repo and tools, and your leads set the priorities.

Is there a minimum term or a placement fee?

There's no placement fee, and the engagement runs month to month. The signed agreement sets how it ends.

Can we hire the developer directly later?

Yes. After 12 months in a row through AlbanianHire, you can hire them directly at no fee, with 14 days' notice. Before 12 months, a buyout fee applies.

Who owns the work?

You do. Every developer signs an NDA and an IP assignment, and under the MSA, work product is assigned to your company once paid for.

Need another senior developer on the team? Tell us the role and stack, and we'll come back with a private shortlist.
